ECBA Certification

International Institute of Business Analysis™ (IIBA®) has announced the launch of the new certification program. 

Entry Certificate in Business Analysis™(ECBA™) is level 1 of the new IIBA® multi-level, competency-based certification program. The Entry Certificate in Business Analysis recognizes individuals entering the field of business analysis, including students enrolled in BA academic programs; new graduates and professionals looking to transition their careers, and functional managers who are not BAs.

ECBA™ has been developed to support the growing demands of the global marketplace and to support the need for recognition at each stage of a BAs career. 

IIBA will offer ECBA™ exams via remote online proctoring. This is a first for IIBA, and will allow individuals from around the world to complete their exam online when they want to and where they want to, while being overseen by a third-party individual.   

In order to test an individual’s knowledge and receive their ECBA™, they must successfully complete a knowledge-based, multiple choice exam aligned with BABOK® Guide v3 that includes 50 questions and is 60 minutes in length. There is no minimum work experience requirement; however, 21 hours of professional development in the last 4 years is required. The exam will be available through online proctoring, which allows you to take the exam in the training location and at the time that is best for you.   

Starting on September 30, individuals will be able to apply, pay for and register to write the ECBA™ exam.
